Who can join Guides? Any girl between 10 and 15, provided there is a space in the unit. In order to join the 204th, it is essential to put your name on the unit’s waiting list. Given the popularity of the unit, our current waiting list is 1-2 years. In order to enter your name, contact me
Do girls have to be in Brownies first? No. In Ecclesall no preference is given to ex-Brownies, as girls are offered places in the order they appear on the waiting list.
Do girls have to wear uniform? Girlguiding UK is a uniformed organisation, and girls wear uniform to meetings and on formal occasions. However the uniform is very varied and relaxed.
Is Girlguiding UK a Christian organisation? No. Girls of any faith can belong to Girlguiding UK.
How much does it cost? Girls pay a subscription, which in Ecclesall is currently £1.50 per week. This covers the rent at the hall, administration costs, equipment, and insurance.They pay extra for activities such as bowling, swimming etc. and buy their own uniform and record book.
